Geophysics Department

History and Mission

The Geophysics group of the Persian Gulf University began its activities in February 2013 by accepting the first master's degree student in the field of seismology. One of the main goals of the establishment of this group is to develop activities based on the expansion of knowledge and answering questions related to the specialized field of the group. According to the missions that have been considered in the strategic plan of the university in the field of existing industries in the province, short, medium and long-term plans of the group have been defined and compiled. Among the major goals of the group were to become a reference for the study of water and groundwater pollution, seismology and the risk of earthquakes and subsurface exploration in the south of the country.
